The "makeovers" that Nation & Standard have implemented on their websites might make them look 'fancy' but with the excruciatigly slow speeds... loading these pages is a pain...
The old format was easier to navigate coz I knew which pages had what. I do not care much about pictures. Having videos is a nice touch but speed/data restrictions does not help....
I am sure I will get used to the new formats but I would rather they spent time & money IMPROVING THE QUALITY of articles and reporting...
I absolutely agree. I know there are plenty of unemployed uni grads who could do much better that what appears in the papers.
ReplyDeleteFor example:
if they ran a series of articles on how to plan for retirement, with calculators, etc, and stories of how some people retired successfully.
If they had a column of what it really takes to start a business, and maybe even had someone answer questions, (I think many of us have very unrealistic expectations of what it takes to start and run a business).
If they ran a series of articles on the impacts in Mau Forest, and interviewed environmental experts instead of focus on the politics of the situation.
I could go on and on.

CT- agree. Daily Nation is now difficult to navigate even if you have the speed and has fewer stories.
ReplyDeleteCT-are you contactable by email? Need to ask you something about I&M bank...
ReplyDeleteMainaT: Hmmm... keeping myself as anon as possible... keeps me objective when I need to critic someone or something...
ReplyDeleteIf it is a general question, please ask and I shall answer on this forum...
If it is of a personal nature, then who do I get in touch with you?
OK. Mine is my mainat@hotmail.com
ReplyDeleteAny idea how to get the online version of Business Daily since the makeover?
ReplyDeleteWhilst acknowledging a difference in Nation albeit with a fewer stories..it shocks me the impunity and total disregard Nation treats its subscribers..I am an annual paid up premium subscriber..I think i paid $40 or thereabouts and i have over 100 days to go..with this new editions we can't even log in..this is not the first time Nation premium (does it exist anymore?)content is off limit..Earlier this year it was unavailable for over 3 weeks, remember we paid upfront..Just be careful with this guys..I would have sued if the paper was here in the UK..For now I wish them the best in this charade they offer as online service.
