Likoni ferries stall - DANGEROUS but Deja Vu

One of these days, there's going to be a major disaster at that ferry crossing. For years, Mombasa residents have called on the government to implement plans for a bypass linking the Nairobi highway with the South Coast. Plans for this bypass have been on the drawing board since early 80s but nothing has happened. If such a bypass were built, it would even be easier for someone from the island to use it rather than wait for the ferry.
