I highlighted the corruption & ineptness of the KAA earlier.
Naikuni of KQ told NTV that the 'expansion' at the airport is 4 years behind schedule. KQ's aircraft are parked all over since JKIA's parking aprons are not ready for use.
Poor KQ. They have been trying to get KAA to expand JKIA since 2002 when they expected a huge jump in passenger numbers!
According to NTV, KQ spends almost KShs 100,000,000 a month at the Panari Hotel - the only hotel that by-passes the traffic prone Uhuru Highway - to accommodate passengers whose flights have been cancelled or delayed.
BTW... I have a gut feeling that muhoho-ho-ho (& family/cronies) either took a cash bribe or an ownership/profit stake from the developers of the hotel-retail complex being developed at JKIA.

100 million per month??? That is like 3.3 million per day? At 10K per room, that would mean 330 rooms every day? How many rooms are there at Panari?
There are only 136 rooms at Panari.

BTW, I figure the First Class & Business Class passengers might get better (more expensive) rooms. Naikuni claims that almost all the bookings at Panari are from KQ...
Perhaps the Kes 100mn might be all the hotels including abroad? And includes costs of transport, etc.

jke: Panari si convenient for those who have business in Industrial Area. Also makes sense for airline travellers.
As for muhoho-ho-ho... In Kenya, government jobs go to the inept & corrupt...
It is in Kenya that we don't care who elect as leaders. We get corrupt and selfish leaders who in turn appoint one of their kind.
I just saw the video at NTV. its a classic corruption piece and I'm fairly sure muho-ho is smiling broadly from his 10% cut. Where has that mf flown before?

MainaT: The problem is that (ordinary) Kenyans will be scammed of billions if the project is allowed to go forward.
And KQ can't expand its fleet. Where do you park the extra aircraft? Or process the passengers?
