Discredited ECK employees to get 500 million

WTF?

kivuitu is slated to get KShs 25 million. The government claims there is no money for development or for teachers but wants to pay sam 'I cannot count' kivuitu KShs 25,000,000/-. People are dying of starvation & the govt refuses to pay farmers a fair price for their maize.

Is kibaki trying to pay off kivuitu for his silence on election irregularities?

If ECK thinks it is being shortchanged, then go to court. Do NOT pay them!

BUT what do you expect from Kenya's morally bereft politicians?

How can the Kenyan prez and/or PM make more than the prez/PM of countries far more prosperous?

kibz makes more than Obama. The USA has an economy at least 800x larger than Kenya’s!
raila makes more than Gordon Brown. The UK’s economy is at least 100x larger than Kenya’s!

And then they go to BEG for food aid!!! If I were a donor, I would say go to hell for more aid. You draw obscene salaries & are bloody corrupt. Let your people starve coz then they may see the need to change the government!

There is an element of you scratch my back, I scratch yours in the ECK saga...
Imagine I voted for some of these people...
Maybe us voters should be shot.

Of course the voters are to blame as well. As much as Kenyans want to deny it, the voting was along TRIBAL lines.

When uhuru kenyatta 'quit' the opposition to back kibaki that was done on pure greed. Many saw it as a tribal action thus hardening the resolve for other tribes to elect their own.

The nail in the coffin was ka-loser's candidacy which was supported by the kamba.

Are the voters really to blame?

They voted out 70% of the MP"s...

They got rid of 20 of Kibaki's ministers...

They voted out Moi & Family and Biwott...

They voted out Murungaru....

The voters are trying, but they are getting shafted.

Democracy is not working. Maybe another solution needs to be found.

CT- apart from the tribal angle, the main issue is that many of us don't interrogate these MP candidates hard enough. In many places even a donkey would have been voted if it stood as the PNU/ODM candidate. What peeps forget is that if you get a quality MP like say Onyonka, Tuju or even Gachuga (ex-Mathira MP), the constituency will start having a development ethos.
A dictator would find it hard going in Kenya without seriously and violently suppressing peeps. They are too many well educated guys...

KE: It is not enough to vote out incumbents but vote for others as well.

On MPs, chances are the 'replacement' is also of the same tribe as the residents esp in rural constituencies. Not necessarily tribal.

BUT as someone said for Embakasi you have to be either kikuyu or somali. Now what does that tell you?

It was at the presidential level where MOST kambas (Ukambani) voted for ka-loser. Pure tribalism.

Central was almost kibz to a man. And we all know how Nyanza votes.

MainaT: Sad that many 'development-oriented' MPs were voted out coz they were in the wrong party.

I will share my thoughts on what political system Kenya should follow.
